Bartosz M. Kowalski was born in 1984 in Gdynia (Poland). Having studied film in Paris and Los Angeles, he returned to his native country, where he began working with HBO, directing two documentaries, Moja Wola (A Dream in the Making) and Niepowstrzymani (Unstoppables).  Plac zabaw is his first feature film.
