Biography

Daniela Persico is film critic and programmer, based in Milan. She is part of Locarno Film Festival’s selection committee and she is the curator for L’immagine e la parola, spin-off of the Locarno Festival. She’s founder and editor in chief of the online quarterly Filmidee (www.filmidee.it) and she manages the Filmidee Summer School. She’s in the selection’s committee of Woche der Kritik – Berlin Critics Week and ISreal – Festival di cinema del 

 

reale di Nuoro. She wrote essays for various collective books and edited books on the work of Claire Simon (2008), Wang Bing (2010), Ross McElwee (2013) and Emmanuel Carrère (2014). In 2009 she directed the medium-length Et mondana ordinare, in 2012 she worked as assistant director on Tutto parla di te by Alina Marazzi and she has helped various young filmmakers in developing their films.
