Biography
Born and raised in Milan, after a degree in cinema, in Italy, Giulia produced Onde by F. Fei- in competition at Rotterdam & Karlovy Vary, and in India, the feature Barah Aana – released in the country in 140 prints; the documentary feature Inshallah, football- selected at Pusan, Jury Special Mention at Dubai, winner Indian National Award for Best Film on Social Issues. In India, she has been creative consultant for the Indian film fund Cinema Capital as International projects advisor.
Dugong’s films have been presented in festivals such as Cannes (Samouni Road by Stefano Savona, 2018, Winner Œil D’Or for Best Documentary; That Which is to come is just a promise by Flatform), Venice (Atlantide by Yuri Ancarani; Il Palazzo by Federica Di Giacomo; Tony Driver by Ascanio Petrini; Controfigura by Rä Di Martino), Locarno (The Challenge by Yuri Ancarani, Special Jury Prize), Rotterdam (Gold is all there is by Andrea Caccia), and were exhibited in art contexts such as Tate Modern and Art Basel.
