Biography

Johanna (“Nunnu”) Karppinen runs Friday Capital, a boutique film financing & consulting company based in Helsinki. Friday Capital focuses on different forms of collateral lending for projects with feasible commercial and artistic quality. Recent projects she’s been involved in include films such as TOVE, NIMBY, and ANIMALS. Previously, as the head of the industry association Audiovisual Finland her mission was to enhance the 

internationalization and growth of the Finnish audiovisual sector. Doing this she worked yearly with 50+ film & TV production companies across genres. Before joining Audiovisual Finland Nunnu founded and ran the film commission of the northernmost and largest region of Finland, Finnish Lapland and prior to the career in film & TV sector she worked in export consultancy with Finnish SMEs in Milan, Italy.
