Biography
Vanessa Ciszewski founded Katuh Studio in Berlin in 2014 to produce ambitious original arthouse films. Specialised in French-German coproductions, she has co-produced Mikhael Hers’ Ce Sentiment de l’Eté, selected in Rotterdam in 2017, Alain Gomis’ FELICITE, Grand Jury Prize at the Berlinale 2017 and Fespaco’s Gold Stallion in the same year among the most prestigious awards, Syrian filmmaker Gaya Jiji’s
debut MY FAVORITE FABRIC, presented at Un Certain Regard in Cannes 2018. Oscar nominee Dror Moreh’s next feature documentary CORRIDORS OF POWER backed by Showtime US is currently in postproduction. Katuh Studio’s first animation film is currently in production: Sepideh Farsi’s THE SIRENE (2022). Particularly interested in the young audiences, Vanessa Ciszewski recently created Luftkind Filmverleih,
dedicated to awakening German young viewers to cinema, art and culture. Vanessa participated in Torino Film Lab’s Adaptlab in 2017 as a script editor. Same year she became the Treasurer of the French-German Film Academy. She is active member of the Atelier Network as a former ALP alumni, member of the German Producer Guild and European Film Academy.
