FIRST CUT LAB PARADISO BRAZIL 2024
First Cut Lab Paradiso Brazil is an online consultancy program designed for fiction feature films in early editing phase from Brazil. Up to 2 feature films will be workshopped during the 2024 edition. The program is an exclusive collaboration with Projeto Paradiso, a philanthropic initiative that supports filmmakers in Brazil.
The selected teams (director/producer/editor) are offered a creative framework, both mindful & challenging, where they can validate or revise editing choices, receive creative and technical feedback from new perspectives and explore the full artistic potential of their films. The rough cut is screened in a private online session after which they receive expert feedbacks from three international film industry advisors, as well as tailor-made advice from a consultant editor. Once the workshop is over, the participants receive a report & a roadmap that can serve as guidance for further editing. At the end of a 6-week period they will send a new revised version of the cut based on the feedback of the workshop.
Eventually, the ambition of First Cut Lab is to enhance the audience outreach of the films and improve their chances to have a successful career in the international market.
Consultant and industry advisors will be appointed accordingly to the profiles of the films selected. An overview of regular consultants of First Cut Lab can be found here: http://firstcutlab.eu/people/
The organizers of the Lab will select up to two projects, on the condition they deem candidates successfully meet the criteria.
