Biography

Maja Popovic is a producer with a decade-long experience with television content.

She was born 1984 in Belgrade, Serbia and studied Film and TV production at Faculty of Drama Arts in Belgrade (2002-2006). Since 2004. works at Pink Television in the position of head producer and has worked on many television projects including drama series and sitcoms. She founded the production company SENSE Production in 2010. where she participated as one of the

producers on the feature film BARBARIANS (2014, dir: Ivan Ikic / Special Mention, Karlovy Vary FF / Seyfi Teoman Award, European FF Palic / Best Film, Crossing Europe Linz ) as well as producer of the documentary film BATTLE OF KUMANOVO: BLOOD AND MIST (2013, dir: Petar Petrovic/ International documentary FF Beldocs) and the viral hit video SOULFOOD SERBIA (2011).

Maja is the producer of the box-office hit

 

HOW I LEARNED TO FLY (2022, dir: Radivoje Andrić ) that was awarded at BUFF Mamlo with the ECFA award for Best European feautre for children. She has also co-produced the feature debut of  Romanian director Octav Chelaru, A HIGHER LAW (2022, Thessaloniki FF).

She is a graduate of the EAVE Producers Workshop 2017 and a participant of the EWA Mentoring program for Women Producers 2018.
