5 First Cut Lab Films Selected for the Berlinale

Five films supported by First Cut Lab have been selected for the 76th edition of the Berlinale: three premiered in the Perspectives section, one in Forum, and one in Special Gala.

Two of the selected titles previously participated in First Cut Lab Brazil: OUR SECRET by Grace Passô (2024 edition) and I BUILT A ROCKET IMAGINING YOUR ARRIVAL by Janaína Marques (2022 edition).

The selection also includes HEYSEL 85 by Teodora Ana Mihai (First Cut Lab Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein 2025), marking her return as a First Cut Lab alumna. She previously took part in First Cut Lab Belgium 2021 with La Civil, which premiered in Un Certain Regard in 2021.

Finally, CHRONICLES FROM THE SIEGE by Abdallah Alkhatib (First Cut Lab Doha 2025) received the GWFF Best Feature Award.
