Biography

Marianne Dumoulin began her career as production assistante with Gilles Sandoz and Yvon Davis, in CDN Productions (France). She started working for JBA in 1992. Here, in Jacques Bidou’s company, she was in charge of many films, including Maria de Medeiros’ “April Captains” (Official Selection Cannes 2000), Raoul Peck’s “Lumumba” (Directors’ Fortnight Cannes 2000), Rithy Panh’s “One evening after the war” (Official Selection Cannes 1998). In 1999, she became producer. Since then, Jacques and Marianne have produced among  

 

many others, “Pau and his brother” by Marc Recha (Competition Cannes 2001), “Face” by Tsai Ming-Liang (Competition Cannes 2009), “Corpo Celeste” by Alice Rohrwacher (Directors’ Fortnight Cannes 2011), “The repentant” by Merzak Allouache (Directors’ Fortnight Cannes 2012), “Stray dogs” by Tsai Ming-Liang (Venice 2013 in Competition Grand Prix of the Jury Silver Lion), “Cain’s children” by Marcell Gero (San Sebastian New Director 2014) and “Donbass” by Sergei Loznitsa (Best Director Prize Un Certain Regard Cannes 2018).
