Biography

Nico Marzano is a film curator, distributor, and producer. He led the film department at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) in London for ten years, where he oversaw the acquisition, presentation, and UK/Ireland distribution of numerous award-winning films premiering at festivals including Cannes, Berlin, Venice, and Sundance. 

 

Under the ICA Cinema label, he also distributed Hale County This Morning, This Evening by RaMell Ross, nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2019.

Nico is currently part of the programming team at the Rome Film Festival and has served on juries at major international festivals including Sundance, Venice, the BFI London Film Festival, CPH:DOX, and Cinéma du Réel. 

He has delivered workshops for the Cannes Film Festival and at other leading institutional venues around the world.

In addition to his curatorial work, Nico is a guest lecturer at several universities and colleges in the UK, Ireland, and Cuba, where he teaches film theory and film programming/curation.
