Biography
Sarajevo born, Paris based editor, writer and director, Una Gunjak studied in Italy and then in the UK, at the National Film and TV School, where she graduated from the Editing department. In 2014 she won the European Film Award for the short film The Chicken that she wrote and directed and that had a premiere at the Cannes’ Critics’ Week.
Excursion, Una’s first feature as director premiered at Locarno Film Festival 2023, taking home the Special Mention Award. It went on to screen at more than 50 festivals, winning along awards for Best Script at FAF Belgrade and Best Actress at Marrakech Film Festival. Excursion has secured theatrical release in 13 countries across Europe and Mediterranean.
While continuing to work as editor, Una is developing her sophomore directorial project and working as editing tutor for First Cut Lab and Dok Incubator. Una is a Cannes Cinéfondation alumna.
