Biography

Sarajevo born, writer, director and editor, Una studied Film Studies in Italy and then obtained her MA in Film Editing at the National Film and TV School in the UK. She has extensively worked as editor, before trying her hand at writing and directing. Her short film “The Chicken” made in 2014 premiered at the Cannes Film Festival Critics’ Week, won the

 

European Film Award for Best Short Film 2014 and screened in the International Competition of Sundance Film Festival. Her short film “Salamat from Germany”, made within the initiative Lebanon Factory, premiered at the Directors’ Fortnight 2017.

Una’s feature film project “Alfa”, was selected for the Cannes Film Festival Cinefondation

Residence and Torino Film Lab’s FeatureLab programme where it won the Production award. Una is currently finishing the postproduction of her first feature film ,“Excursion”.

As a guest speaker and a lecturer, Una has been part of the European Short Pitch Program and the Midpoint Institute.
