Biography
Vanya Rainova is an award-winning writer and producer whose claim to fame is international co-productions for feature-length creative documentaries and shot fiction films that have screened at IDFA, HotDocs, Vision du Reel, Locarno, Tribeca and won awards at Clermont-Ferrand, ZINEBI, Brest, Brive, Krakow, Yerevan, Bulgarian Film Academy and others.
In 2015 Vanya started working to bring that experience into producing feature films that have a distinct voice and aesthetics. She is looking forward to releasing Andrey M Paounov’s feature debut January (2020, BG/PT/LUX) and is developing three more features projects of emerging Bulgarian talent.
She holds an MFA in creative writing from The University of San Francisco. She attended Torino Film Lab and is a graduate of Eurodoc (2015) and EAVE (2016).
