4 First Cut Lab Films Premiered at the 79th Festival de Cannes

The 79th Festival de Cannes proved to be an extraordinary edition for TATINO.

We are proud to celebrate the premieres of four films supported by First Cut Lab and First Cut+ across several major Cannes sections.

Two films were selected for Un Certain Regard: Yesterday the Eye Didn’t Sleep by Rakan Mayasi (First Cut Lab Doha 2025), and Elephants in the Fog by Abinash Bikram Shah (First Cut+ Trieste 2026). Elephants in the Fog was also awarded the Jury Prize.

Another supported project, Death Has No Master by Jorge Thielen Armand (First Cut Lab Canada 2026), premiered at the Directors’ Fortnight.

Finally, Detention by Guillaume Massart (First Cut+ Trieste 2026), celebrated its premiere in the ACID section.
